STORYLINE
Story
A human figure, called M, has travelled through places searching without clear aims, trying to find something more, a missing ingredient of his life, something that he cannot leave behind. The performance starts when he arrives to another place, the Lake, where magic happens unexpectedly. Magic here is a different way of seeing himself, an opportunity to jump. He needs to make a decision: to enter the Lake and discover its secrets or to stay outside.
A local fisherman, a kind of mediator, whose realm is the thin line between the surface and depth, understands the situation well. A couple of tourists come and go being lost and confused, too busy with their agenda to see where they really are.
The magical surprise comes along with a 'goldfish,' an undefinable creature, neither human nor animal, neither female nor male, who invites M to enter the unknown water. A mirror is revealed in front of him, a new and exciting territory.
However, jumping in the Lake involves a great risk of vulnerability: losing control, going against the deepest fears, not being able to return to comfortable habits, experiencing something that becomes a part of him forever. Whatever the decision will be, there is a moment of a deadlock, a confrontation with himself, an encounter that invokes an irreversible personal change.
Visual aspects
Visually Lake comes alive through video mapping and reflecting lights that guide the viewer through the intensity of the storyline. Transforming levels of flowing images establish connections between natural and urban environments. At the same time this becomes the changing surface of the metaphorical water, an open screen for the characters' physical interaction.
Sound
Live electronic music, a piano and human voices create the sounds of the Lake. The performers are in a continuous motion, reacting on the musical atmosphere. The silhouettes of the musician appears from time to time from behind the projection becoming parts of the water.

Working method
We are working together in an experimental, organic way. During the rehearsals we combine musical and movement improvisation with written material, leaving an open space for constant interactions of the different forms of creative expressions. In the working process we involve meditation, imagination games, voice and physical training. Sometimes we even visit outside locations to rehearse in order to include an extended perception of space in our performance.
